Thereafter, he was awarded the Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) Scholarship from the Ministry of Health to pursue advanced subspecialty training in Foot and Ankle surgery. He completed a year-long fellowship at the prestigious University of British Columbia, Canada where he honed his skills and knowledge in treating complex foot and ankle injuries.

His subspecialty interests are in foot and ankle, sports and reconstructive surgery. In particular, he is a strong advocate of minimally invasive or keyhole surgery. Of note, he is one of a handful of surgeons with vast experience in keyhole bunion surgery.

He also has a keen interest in harnessing 3D printing technology to develop patient specific implants and guides to improve clinical outcomes in lower limb reconstruction and deformity correction surgery.
